Abrasifs pour cale à poncer plate Grain 180 ERGOLISS

Ergoliss grit 180 abrasives from L'Outil Parfait are specially designed for finishing thin plaster coats. With their self-adhesive Velcro system, they attach to your flat sanding block in seconds and can be changed just as quickly to adapt the grit as your work progresses. Made in France, these anti-clogging abrasives offer extended durability and consistent sanding, ideal for joint tape and demanding wall finishes.

  • Dimensions: 20 x 20 cm, compatible with Ergoliss flat sanding blocks
  • Grit 180: suitable for finishing work on plaster coats
  • Anti-clogging surface for sustained performance
  • Self-adhesive attachment (Velcro) for rapid replacement
  • Recommended use: finishing and sanding of plaster coats less than 3 mm thick
  • Pack: set of 10 abrasives
  • Made in France by L'Outil Parfait
  • Not suitable for high-volume work

Application Tips

Simply attach the abrasive to the foam of your Ergoliss flat sanding block by applying light pressure to ensure adhesion. Grit 180 is ideal for finishing passes following initial sanding with grit 120. Make steady circular movements with even, moderate pressure.

For joint tape between plasterboard sheets, sand lengthwise then cross-wise to remove marks. Be careful not to press too hard to avoid gouging the plaster. When the abrasive begins to clog despite its anti-clogging treatment, replace it immediately to maintain optimal finish quality.

These abrasives are not designed for sanding large areas or thick plaster coats. For such work, use an electric sander with appropriate discs.

Pro tips

For Belgian painter craftspeople, these grit 180 abrasives are a valuable ally for renovation projects where finishing quality is paramount. Build up a stock of different ERGOLISS grits to adapt your sanding to each stage: start with a coarser grit to level thick areas, then finish with grit 180 for the final finish. The square 20 x 20 cm format offers excellent grip and allows you to sand into corners with the sanding block point. Check the condition of your block's velcro foam regularly: worn foam reduces the effectiveness of the hook-and-loop adhesion and can result in uneven sanding.

FAQ

What is the difference between ERGOLISS abrasives and standard abrasives?

ERGOLISS abrasives are distinguished by their hook-and-loop system which allows changing in a few seconds, and by their anti-clogging coating which extends their lifespan. They are specifically designed for finishing thin plaster coatings, unlike standard abrasives intended for heavy-duty work.

Is grit 180 suitable for all types of plaster?

Grit 180 is suitable for finishing work and light sanding. It works perfectly on plaster strips less than 3 mm thick. For greater thicknesses or heavy sanding, first use a coarser grit before finishing with grit 180.

How long does an ERGOLISS grit 180 abrasive last?

The lifespan depends on the surface area to sand and the condition of the plaster. However, the anti-clogging treatment allows you to use each sheet longer than a standard abrasive. You will notice a loss of effectiveness when the grit no longer bites properly: this is the time to replace the sheet.

Are these abrasives compatible with all sanding blocks?

These abrasives are designed for flat sanding blocks in the ERGOLISS range equipped with velcro foam. Ensure your block has the hook-and-loop adhesion system compatible with these 20 x 20 cm dimensions.

Can these abrasives be used on materials other than plaster?

Although specially designed for plaster, these grit 180 abrasives can be used on other smooth surfaces requiring light finishing. However, the ERGOLISS range is not intended for intensive sanding of hard materials or for working with raw wood.
