70 g/m² reinforcement mesh for thick plasters: prevents cracks on board joints, expansion joints and fragile substrates. 50 m² in 100 cm roll.
Reinforcement mesh is a glass-fibre reinforcement that strengthens fillers and wall surfaces. It helps prevent cracks from reappearing on interior walls and ceilings. This selection brings together two families. Wide self-adhesive mesh quickly covers a cracked wall or ceiling, with no primer needed beforehand. Embeddable reinforcement mesh, set into plaster or filler, is suited to new builds and renovation projects alike. Plasterers, painters and homeowners renovating an older house will find everything they need for a long-lasting finish before painting or wallpapering. To choose the right one, start with the condition of the surface. On a sound wall marked by widespread surface cracks, a one-metre-wide self-adhesive mesh covers large areas in just a few strips and can then be coated with finishing filler. On uneven surfaces, at joints between different materials, or to reinforce a new coat of plaster, opt for a mesh embedded in fresh filler. Compare the weight too: a heavier mesh provides greater reinforcement, while a lighter mesh embeds more easily in a thin coat. In every case, tackle the cause of the cracks first (damp, structural movement) and overlap the strips to avoid any weak lines.
