Covers and prevents cracks on damaged walls. Quick adhesive application with vinyl glue, washable and easily repaintable.
Glass fibre fleece is a thin wall covering woven from glass fibres, bonded to walls and ceilings before being skimmed or painted. Its job is to reinforce the substrate: it conceals hairline cracks, stops them from coming back and strengthens weakened surfaces, while offering good resistance to abrasion and impact. It's a go-to solution in Belgian renovation projects, whether on old crazed plaster, a cracked ceiling in a classic Belgian townhouse or new partition walls prone to movement. Professional decorators and DIYers alike use it to create a sound, even base before the finishing coat. To make the right choice, start with the weight, expressed in g/m². A lightweight fleece, such as 35 g/m², is ideal for hairline cracks and smooth finishes, as its texture easily disappears under filler or paint. Next, work out how much you need based on the roll size: a 25 m x 1 m roll covers 25 m² gross. Allow extra for cuts, corners and joins, especially on ceilings. Finally, use an adhesive suited to glass fibre wall coverings, smooth it down carefully to push out any air bubbles, then let it dry before skimming or painting.
