Each product has been chosen for a specific use, so the tool matches both the surface and the paint you're using. Start by choosing your roller according to the condition of the surface. A short, dense microfibre is ideal for smooth interior surfaces and water-based paints: it gives an even stipple, and its bevelled edges help prevent roller marks. For a rendered facade, brickwork or a rough surface, a facade sleeve is the better choice, as it holds more paint and works into every recess, a real advantage in Belgium's damp climate. On new plaster or a porous surface, apply the sealer first to even out absorption. Finish cutting in with a brush before rolling the larger areas.
