MICROLISS'HD 12

The MicroLiss HD 12 is a high-density polyester microfibre roller, 12 mm thick, designed for applying water-based paints to smooth surfaces. Its dense structure provides excellent paint loading and uniform paint release, allowing you to cover walls and ceilings efficiently while minimising lap marks thanks to its turned and bevelled edges.

Technical Features

  • High-density polyester microfibre, 12 mm
  • Turned and bevelled edges to reduce lap marks
  • Consistent stippled finish
  • Strong covering and filling power
  • Compatible with all water-based paints
  • Recommended for smooth surfaces: plasterboard, fine coatings, prepared walls
  • Available in multiple widths: 110 mm, 180 mm, 250 mm and 500 mm

Application Advice

Before first use, lightly dampen the sleeve and squeeze it thoroughly to remove manufacturing dust and optimise paint loading. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, dust-free and properly prepared.

Load the roller evenly in the paint tray without excess. Apply the paint in zones by crisscrossing, then finish in the same direction to even out the finish. The 12 mm fibre allows you to work quickly on large areas whilst maintaining good control over application.

After use, clean the roller with clean water before the paint dries. Squeeze it properly and leave it to air dry before storing, so you can reuse it for future projects.

Pro tips

To achieve a truly even finish on a ceiling, avoid overloading the roller: it's better to make an extra pass than to risk runs. On large areas, work in zones of roughly 1 m² whilst always maintaining a wet edge to avoid visible lap marks. The bevelled edges of the MicroLiss HD 12 make it easy to work near corners, but pre-cutting in with a brush is still recommended for a flawless result.

Jobsite Tip: if you're painting multiple rooms in one day with the same colour, simply wrap the loaded roller in a plastic bag between applications instead of cleaning it each time. You'll save time and water.

FAQ

Is the MicroLiss HD 12 suitable for a very smooth finish or do I need a shorter fibre?

The MicroLiss HD 12 with its 12 mm fibre already delivers a consistent, quality stippled finish, perfectly suited to smooth surfaces such as plasterboard or prepared walls. For an even smoother finish or on extremely smooth substrates where a very fine effect is sought, a shorter fibre may be preferable. It depends on the desired end result and the type of paint used.

Can I use this roller with standard acrylic wall paints?

Yes, the MicroLiss HD 12 is specifically designed for applying water-based paints, which includes the standard acrylic wall paints commonly used indoors. Its high-density polyester microfibre ensures good paint loading and uniform release, ideal for this type of product.

Which width should I choose for my project?

For ceilings and large wall areas, opt for 250 mm or 500 mm widths which allow rapid coverage. The 180 mm sizes work well for standard walls, whilst 110 mm is handy for tight spaces, skirting boards or touch-ups. Choose the size to match the area being painted for optimal comfort and efficiency.

What is the real purpose of bevelled edges on a roller?

The turned and bevelled edges reduce edge marks and the overlaps that often appear when using a roller. This produces a more even finish, especially on lap areas and join lines. It's a technical detail that makes a real difference to the final result, highly valued by professionals.

How many times can I reuse this type of sleeve?

With proper maintenance after each use, a high-density polyester microfibre roller like the MicroLiss HD 12 can be reused several times. Be sure to clean it thoroughly with clean water before the paint dries, squeeze it properly and leave it to air dry. Its lifespan depends on frequency of use and quality of cleaning.
