Application advice
Surface preparation is critical to the final result. Remove all friable material by brushing and sanding. Degrease soiled surfaces with a suitable cleaner. Nicotine stains, soot or water-soluble discolouration require specific cleaning and the application of a stain-blocking primer. Cracks and imperfections must be filled carefully. Porous or new substrates require an appropriate undercoat to ensure optimal adhesion and an even finish.
Apply Dekso 1 Ultramat by roller or airless, ready to use or diluted up to 10% maximum. Allow 1 to 2 coats depending on substrate and base colour. Work at a minimum temperature of 10°C and humidity below 80%. Clean your equipment with water immediately after use. Some shades may require additional coats to achieve optimal hiding power.

With ultra-matt finishes like Dekso 1, the key to a flawless result lies in consistent roller technique. Work in complete sections without interruption and avoid touching up semi-dry areas: the slightest build-up or localised retouching will remain visible under raking light. Use a medium-pile roller (12-14 mm) for uniform texture and always cross your passes.
Beware of a common pitfall: whilst an ultra-matt finish does conceal minor substrate imperfections, it will mercilessly reveal any flaws in application technique. Strictly observe recoating times (4 hours minimum) and don't try to save a coat: two full coats are always better than one stretched to the limit. Finally, ensure you order enough paint from the same batch to avoid any risk of colour variation.
