Application tips

Before climbing, set up the stepladder fully open on a level, clean and stable surface. Check that the non-slip feet are resting flat. On a freshly washed or dusty floor, or one covered with slippery protective sheeting, clean or secure the area first.

Choose the number of steps according to the height you need to reach. You should be able to work at a comfortable height from the platform, without overstretching or looking for a precarious foothold. For a stairwell or a high ceiling, a model with 6, 7 or 8 steps is better suited than a 3- or 4-step model.

When painting or hanging wallpaper, organise your workstation before climbing. Place the tools for the task at hand on the tool tray, hang the bucket on the hook provided and keep your hands free for climbing. After use, wipe down the steps: the non-slip grooves stay effective when they are not clogged with paint or glue.
