Application advice

Carefully prepare your surfaces: substrates must be clean, dry, sound and degreased. Repair imperfections with suitable filler and sand if necessary. Application temperature must be above 10°C and relative humidity below 80%.

Flutex Pro 10 is applied by roller, brush or airless spray, ready to use or with a maximum dilution of 10% water. For optimal results, work in cross strokes and maintain coverage of 7 to 9 m²/litre depending on the substrate.

Clean tools immediately after use with clean water. Touch-dry after 1 hour at 20°C and 60% relative humidity. Allow 4 hours between coats. The paint reaches full hardness after 28 days of curing.

Pro tips

To fully exploit the covering power of Flutex Pro 10, avoid over-diluting the product, especially on the first coat. Excessive dilution compromises opacity and wash resistance. On new or highly absorbent substrates such as plaster, favour a first coat with minimal dilution at only 5% to saturate the surface, then apply the second coat undiluted.

The gloss level 10 (lightly satin) makes it easier to spot uncovered areas under raking light during application, unlike completely matt finishes. Use this to check your work as you go, particularly over large wall areas. For occupied job sites, the low VOC emission and rapid drying enable quick reinstatement of rooms.

FAQ

How many coats are needed on fresh plaster?

On fresh plaster, plan for a minimum of two coats. The first coat can be lightly diluted to 5–10% to saturate the absorbent substrate, the second is applied undiluted to ensure final opacity and wash resistance. Observe an interval of 4 hours between coats.

Can painted walls be cleaned with detergents?

Yes, Flutex Pro 10 is classified in wash resistance class 1 according to EN 13300 standard, which corresponds to the highest resistance category. You can clean surfaces with mild detergents once the paint has fully cured, that is after 28 days of drying.

What is the difference between Flutex Pro 5 and Pro 10?

The main difference lies in gloss level: Pro 5 offers a completely matt finish (gloss 5), whilst Pro 10 presents a lightly satin appearance (gloss 10). Pro 10 is easier to clean and better suited to high-traffic areas.

What is the waiting time before the room can be occupied?

The paint is touch-dry after 1 hour at 20°C. You can re-enter the room a few hours after application, but avoid intense contact or cleaning during the first few days. Full hardness and maximum wash resistance are achieved after 28 days of curing.

Can Flutex Pro 10 be tinted in all colours?

Yes, the 'to be tinted' version accepts colouring according to the Flügger colour range. Have the tint made up in-store using a professional colouring system to guarantee reproducibility and colour stability from can to can.
