MASQUAGE CRÊPE LIGNES COURBES

The crepe masking tape for curved lines from the OutilProtect' range is specially designed to achieve neat and precise lines on irregular and curved surfaces. Thanks to its flexible crepe paper backing and its adhesive mass made of solvent-free synthetic rubber resin, it perfectly adapts to complex contours whilst guaranteeing reliable adhesion and residue-free removal. Compatible with solvent-based and water-based paints and lacquers, it is the ideal tool for precision interior paintwork.

Technical characteristics

  • Roll of 50 metres x 25 mm wide
  • Thickness: 280 micron for optimal strength
  • Crepe paper backing, highly conformable to curved and irregular surfaces
  • Hot melt adhesive mass made of solvent-free synthetic rubber resin
  • Compatible with solvent-based and water-based paints and lacquers
  • Hand-tearable, no cutter required
  • Easy and fast removal with no adhesive residue
  • Instant adhesion on multiple surfaces: wood, metal, glass, plaster

Application tips

Ensure the surface to be masked is clean, dry and dust-free before application. Unroll the tape gradually whilst following curves and contours, applying light pressure for uniform adhesion. The crepe paper naturally conforms to reliefs without creating creases or air bubbles.

For clean paint lines and to prevent paint runs under the tape, press the edges firmly with your finger or a smooth tool. Apply your paint or lacquer in thin coats rather than thick layers. Remove the tape within a few hours of application, before the paint fully dries, by pulling at a 45° angle to preserve line sharpness.

The tape tears easily by hand, which significantly speeds up application and allows for quick adjustments on site. Its creped structure slightly absorbs surface irregularities, providing better edge sealing than conventional smooth tapes.

Pro tips

For very tight curves or pronounced bends, stretch the tape slightly during application: the crepe structure will then relax to perfectly conform to the contours. On delicate surfaces such as wallpaper or certain fine plasters, first test adhesion on a small inconspicuous area. When working on sites with temperature variations, hot melt adhesive remains effective, but always apply the tape on surfaces at room temperature for optimal adhesion.

FAQ

Can I use this tape on exterior surfaces?

No, this crepe masking tape is specifically designed for interior use. For exterior work, consult our range of masking tapes adapted to climatic conditions.

Does the tape leave adhesive residue after removal?

The hot melt adhesive used on this tape allows clean removal without residue, provided you respect drying times and remove the tape within the recommended timeframe after paint application.

What is the difference from standard masking tape?

Unlike smooth standard masking tape, crepe paper offers superior flexibility allowing it to adapt to curved and irregular surfaces without deforming or creating creases. Specifically designed to create clean curved lines.

How long can I leave the tape in place?

To ensure optimal removal and prevent the adhesive from becoming too tacky, remove the tape as soon as the paint is touch dry. Avoid leaving it in place for several days, especially if exposed to heat.
