MASQUE FFP2 NR D

The FFP2 NR D mask provides effective respiratory protection for painting, sanding and preparation work in dusty environments. With filtration efficiency exceeding 94%, this semi-rigid shell mask protects against particle aerosols, dust, fumes and mists up to 10 times the occupational exposure limit. Designed for extended wear throughout the entire work project, it combines comfort and safety through its precise adjustment system and exhalation valve.

Technical features

  • Semi-rigid polypropylene shell with inner layer of polyurethane for optimal comfort
  • Filtration efficiency exceeding 94% against particles, dust and aerosols
  • Exhalation valve for expelled air evacuation and humidity reduction
  • Adjustable nose clip by pinching with polyurethane foam nose bridge
  • Elastic straps made from rubber threads with plastic adjustment hooks for personalised fit
  • Multi-layer filter material ensuring seal integrity and wearing comfort
  • Protection against water-based and liquid-dispersed aerosols
  • PPE Category III compliant with EN 149:2001+A1:2009

Application advice

Before use, pinch the nose clip firmly on the bridge of the nose to ensure a proper seal. Then adjust the straps by rolling or unrolling the elastic material around the plastic hooks until achieving a comfortable fit without pressure points. The mask must adhere perfectly to the face with no air gaps at the sides.

This single-use mask is particularly suitable for sanding, stripping, spray application and surface preparation in moderately toxic environments. Store masks in a cool, dry place, protected from frost and light in original packaging, between 2°C and 55°C with relative humidity below 75%.

Discard the mask after each use or as soon as it shows signs of wear, excessive moisture or breathing difficulty. The NR D marking indicates this is a non-reusable mask designed for occasional use in dusty environments.

Pro tips

At Pygmalion, we recommend that professional painters always keep a stock of FFP2 masks on their job sites, especially when carrying out work that generates fine dust: sanding filler, stripping old paint or spray application. The marking NR D means that this mask is single-use and cannot be reused from one work site to another. Replace the mask as soon as it becomes damp or clogged, as its filtration efficiency decreases significantly under these conditions. For long-duration or very dusty work, plan for several masks per working day to ensure constant and effective respiratory protection.

FAQ

What does the FFP2 NR D designation mean?

FFP2 indicates the filtration level: more than 94% of suspended particles are retained. NR means Non-Reusable, so the mask is single-use. The letter D indicates that the mask has passed the dolomite dust clogging test, guaranteeing resistance to crushing and durability during use.

How long can I wear this FFP2 mask?

This mask is designed for single use and should be discarded after each use, or as soon as it becomes damp, soiled or deformed. The wearing duration depends on the intensity of work and dust levels on the job site, but it is recommended not to exceed one working day and to change it regularly to maintain optimal protection.

Does this mask protect against solvent or paint fumes?

No, this FFP2 mask filters only solid particles and aerosols. It does not protect against chemical vapours, gases or solvents. For spraying paints or products containing solvents, a mask equipped with activated charcoal cartridges specific to organic vapours must be used.

How do I check that the mask is correctly fitted?

Once the mask is positioned, pinch the nose bar firmly so it fits the shape of your nose. Then perform a seal check by breathing in and out deeply: the mask should stay pressed against your face without air leaking out the sides. If you feel air leaks, readjust the straps and the nose bar.
