Parasilico Sanitair N - BLANC

Parasilico Sanitair N is a one-component neutral oxime-type silicone, specially formulated for sanitary applications and humid environments. Curing at room temperature through the action of air moisture, this sealant offers excellent adhesion without primer to most building materials and synthetic materials. Compliant with FDA 21 §177.2600 (e) for food contact, it is also suitable for cold rooms and professional kitchens.

Technical specifications

  • Neutral one-component silicone (RTV-1), ready to use
  • Permanent elasticity ensuring optimal joint durability
  • Mould-resistant thanks to integrated fungicide
  • Excellent resistance to low and high temperatures
  • Very good adhesion to tiles, glass, galvanised metal and synthetic materials
  • Exceptional resistance to ageing and weathering
  • Formulation without MEKO
  • FDA-compliant for food contact

Application advice

Application temperature should be between +5°C and +40°C. Surfaces must be solid, dry and free from dust and grease. If necessary, degrease with Parasilico Cleaner, M.E.K., alcohol or ethanol. It is advisable to carry out an adhesion test beforehand to ensure compatibility with the substrate.

Respect recommended joint dimensions: for a 6 mm wide joint, maintain a depth of 6 mm with a tolerance of ± 1 mm. For wider joints (15 mm), provide a depth of 10 mm. Do not apply in confined spaces and ensure good ventilation during application and curing.

The user must ensure that the product is suitable for their specific use. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer's technical department.

Pro tips

For bathroom projects in Belgium, this neutral silicone offers the advantage of adhesion without primer on most common substrates: tiles, ceramic, enamel, glass and galvanised metals. The 10-minute skin formation time allows you to smooth the joint calmly without rushing. However, be strict about prior degreasing, especially on surfaces in contact with cosmetic or cleaning products.

Always ensure a joint that is slightly deeper than wide for major sections: this rule guarantees joint flexibility and durability. For expansion joints in walk-in showers, check that no residual water is present before application—a common fault that compromises long-term adhesion.

FAQ

What is the difference between neutral silicone and acetate silicone?

Parasilico Sanitair N is a neutral silicone that releases no vinegar odour during curing, unlike acetate silicones. It is also compatible with a wider range of materials, particularly corrosion-sensitive metals, and is better suited for bathroom spaces.

How long must I wait before using a shower after application?

The joint cures at a rate of 2.5 to 3 mm per 24 hours. For a standard 6 mm joint, allow approximately 48 hours before exposing the area to water. For thicker joints, extend this time accordingly to ensure complete core curing.

Can I apply this silicone to all materials?

Parasilico Sanitair N adheres to most common construction materials: tiles, ceramic, enamel, glass and galvanised metals. For unusual substrates or if in doubt, it is advisable to perform a prior adhesion test or contact the manufacturer's technical department.

How do I calculate the ideal dimensions for my joint?

The width-to-depth ratio is essential: for a 6 mm wide joint, provide 6 mm depth. For 10 mm wide, aim for 6 to 8 mm depth. For 20 mm wide joints, provide 10 to 12 mm depth. This proportion guarantees joint elasticity and durability.

What temperature can the joint withstand once dry?

Once fully cured, Parasilico Sanitair N resists temperatures from -50°C to +150°C, making it suitable for standard bathroom applications, including near moderate heat sources.
