Magnetic Paint transforms your walls, doors or furniture into functional magnetic surfaces. No more holes, pins, adhesives or marks on your supports: you attach and reposition your documents, drawings, memos or posters at will using simple magnets. Ideal for children's rooms, offices, kitchens or professional spaces, this acrylic paint can be applied to multiple interior surfaces and can then be finished with your choice of coating.
Proper surface preparation is key to the success of your project. The surface must be perfectly smooth, clean and dry. Sand and wash if necessary. On porous substrates such as plaster or wood, apply a suitable primer beforehand and observe drying times to ensure optimal adhesion.
Before application, mix the paint thoroughly to distribute the metallic particles evenly. Apply multiple coats with a roller for acrylic paint or a brush: the total thickness directly determines the magnetic strength of the surface. Allow 24 hours drying before applying your decorative topcoat.
The raw and metallic appearance of magnetic paint requires a finish. Cover it with the wall paint or lacquer of your choice to achieve the desired colour and aesthetic, whilst retaining the magnetic properties.

For your professional projects, keep in mind that the number of coats directly conditions final magnetic performance. Always plan an extra coat if the client wishes to fix heavier objects or use standard magnets. Systematically recommend neodymium magnets to guarantee customer satisfaction. Ensure the base surface is as smooth as possible: any irregularity reduces magnet adhesion. If you combine this paint with a blackboard finish or a dark shade, always test magnetic attraction before project handover.
For functional magnetic attraction with standard magnets, plan 2 to 3 coats to achieve a thickness of approximately 100 µm. For better performance, you can go up to 4 to 6 coats, especially if using standard magnets or wishing to fix heavier objects.
Opt for powerful neodymium magnets with large contact surface, such as thin discs or flat blocks. Conventional ferrite magnets generally do not provide sufficient hold on a painted magnetic surface.
Yes, once magnetic paint is touch-dry (minimum 6 hours), you can cover it with a finishing paint in your chosen colour or even thin wallpaper. Magnetic function will be preserved.
Magnetic paint is designed for light objects: photos, posters, postcards, paper documents. Magnetic force is limited by iron layer thickness and is therefore not suitable for heavy or bulky objects.
Allow each coat to dry for 3 to 4 hours before applying the next. To cover magnetic paint with a finish, wait until it is touch-dry, at least 6 hours after the final coat.
