RUBAN MASQUAGE LISSE - Collage protection de sol

The smooth masking tape from the OutilProtect' range by L'Outil Parfait is designed to effectively protect your smooth and slightly rough surfaces during solvent-based or acrylic painting work. With its semi-crepe paper and cross-linked natural rubber adhesive mass, this 50-metre tape offers reliable protection without leaving traces or residue on removal.

  • Roll of 50 m × 50 mm, total thickness 120 microns
  • Semi-crepe saturated and coated paper backing, 95 microns (55 g/m²)
  • Solvent-based cross-linked natural rubber adhesive
  • Tear resistance of 34 N/cm with elongation of 9%
  • Peel adhesion on stainless steel of 1.8 N/cm
  • Resistant to solvents, thinners and moisture
  • Service temperature up to 60°C for 60 min or 80°C for 30 min
  • Hand-cuttable, removes without tearing

Application advice

Apply the tape to clean and dry surfaces for optimal adhesion. The semi-crepe paper enables precise application even on slightly irregular contours, while its solvent resistance makes it suitable for both acrylic and solvent-based paints.

For sharp lines without runs, remove the tape before the paint has fully dried, pulling at a 45° angle. The natural rubber adhesive formula guarantees clean removal without residue, even after several hours of application. Suitable for indoor use on metal, glass, wood and wall surfaces.

Pro tips

For your floor protection projects, combine this smooth masking tape with protective films or sheeting for strong fixation that will withstand repeated foot traffic. Its natural rubber adhesive mass provides excellent grip even on slightly porous surfaces, whilst guaranteeing clean removal without residue. Ensure you firm down the edges during application to prevent paint seepage, especially with fluid paints. For projects requiring multiple coats or extended drying times, its thermal resistance up to 60°C for one hour gives you comfortable margin, even when using drying accelerators.

FAQ

Is this tape suitable for outdoor use?

No, this smooth masking tape is designed exclusively for indoor use. For exterior work exposed to UV and weather conditions, alternative specialist references are available in our protective accessories range.

Can this tape be used with all paint types?

Yes, this tape resists solvents and thinners, making it compatible with both water-based acrylic paints and solvent-based paints. Its cross-linked natural rubber adhesive mass guarantees reliable grip regardless of your paint formulation.

What is the difference between smooth tape and crepe tape?

Smooth tape, with its coated semi-crepe paper carrier, is thinner and denser than standard crepe tape. It offers sharper edges and better resistance to paint seepage on smooth surfaces. It is also suitable for slightly rough surfaces whilst maintaining excellent demarcation precision.

How long can the tape be left in place?

For optimal removal without residue, remove the tape once the paint is touch dry. Its thermal resistance up to 60°C for 60 minutes or 80°C for 30 minutes allows use even with drying accelerators. However, avoid leaving it in place for several days, particularly in warm conditions.

Does the tape leave adhesive marks after removal?

No, this masking tape is designed to remove without leaving traces on surfaces. Remove it by gradually pulling at a 45° angle for a clean result. Its natural rubber adhesive formulation guarantees sufficient grip during work whilst enabling clean removal.
