The filler is applied manually or mechanically according to your preference: by hand, roller, or professional tools such as airless, bazooka or banjo. For joint treatment with tape, allow approximately 500 g/m²/mm of board thickness. For finishing work, allow 1 kg/m² for a thickness of 1 to 4 mm.

Drying time between coats is 12 to 24 hours depending on ambient conditions. The filler smooths easily and sands effortlessly, accelerating finishing work and reducing fatigue on large projects. Pro tips

For renovation projects in Belgium where humidity levels may fluctuate, ensure your substrates are perfectly dry before application. CE 78 adapts particularly well to standard plasterboards, but work at temperatures above 5°C for optimal drying. Professional tip: lightly dampen your putty knife during final smoothing, this reduces subsequent sanding and minimises dust on site.

FAQ

Is CE 78 suitable for moisture-resistant plasterboard joints?

Yes, this filler can be used on standard plasterboards indoors. For wet rooms, however, check compatibility with your specific plasterboard system and consult the manufacturer's technical data sheet for particular application conditions.

How long should I wait between two coats?

The recommended time between two coats is 12 to 24 hours, depending on the ambient temperature and humidity conditions on your job site. Sufficient drying time prevents cracking.

Can CE 78 be used for filling holes?

CE 78 is primarily designed for jointing and finishing plasterboards with tape. Its application thickness ranges from 1 to 5 mm, making it suitable for joints and surface finishing, but less appropriate for filling large cavities.

Does the filler need preparation before use?

No, CE 78 is ready-to-use filler. Simply stir the bucket contents lightly before application to homogenise the paste, then apply directly with your putty knife.

What quantity should I allow for my jointing work?

For jointing with tape, allow approximately 500 g per m² per millimetre of plasterboard thickness. For complete surface finishing, allow approximately 1 kg per m² for a thickness of 1 to 4 mm.
