Technical sheetDownload PDFBAGAR AIRLISS J LIGHT by Beissier is a ready-to-use joint filler for treatment of joint tape and finishing, specially formulated to be lighter than standard versions. Designed for manual or mechanical airless application, it offers excellent glide and professional-grade filling quality for all your plasterboard finishing work indoors.
For manual application, use a suitable filling knife. Apply the compound directly to the joint tape in successive coats, allowing drying time between each pass. For mechanical airless application, adjust your machine pressure according to the manufacturer's recommendations for even atomisation without excessive material.
The compound can be applied in coats up to 3 mm thick. After complete drying, lightly sand the surface to remove any marks and irregularities. The substrate can then be covered with traditional primer, matt or satin paints, or lightweight wall coverings.
Work on a clean, dry and dust-free substrate to ensure optimal adhesion. Consult the manufacturer's technical data sheet for specific details regarding drying times and application conditions.

To get the best results from Bagar Airliss J Light when using mechanical application, ensure you thoroughly homogenise the product before use, especially after prolonged storage. As the filler is ready to use, avoid diluting it: its consistency has been specially formulated for optimal airless spray application. If you alternate between manual and mechanical application on the same site, remember to adjust your machine pressure according to the surfaces: corners and joints often require additional manual finishing.
A Pygmalion tip for your projects in Belgium: in our regions where humidity can vary significantly, strictly follow the application temperature range between 8°C and 35°C. During winter, store your buckets in a temperature-controlled space the day before application to ensure the best workability of the product.
Yes, this filler is designed for all stages of plasterboard joint treatment indoors. It is applied to standard plasterboard and is suitable for both the first coat and for filling and finishing.
Bagar Airliss J Light offers great versatility: it can be applied both manually and with all mechanised systems (airless, spray equipment, roller). It is compatible with all mechanical joint tape application tools on the market.
Consumption varies depending on use: allow for 0.35 kg/m² for joint tape treatment and 0.7 kg/m² for full plastering. An 18 kg bucket can therefore treat approximately 50 m² of joint tape or 25 m² of complete plastering.
The filler has been formulated for easy sanding thanks to its lightweight composition. Its fine finish limits sanding work. The need to sand between coats depends on your application technique and desired result, but the final surface sands easily before painting.
Once dry, Bagar Airliss J Light can receive conventional paints or wall coverings directly without additional intermediate treatment. Its white matt finish provides an excellent base for all types of interior decoration.
