Décapeur thermique

The heat gun is the essential tool for effectively removing paint and varnish using heat. With adjustable power from 1000 W to 2000 W and temperatures reaching 350°C or 600°C, it adapts to all your paint stripping work, as well as drying render, shrinking cables and defrosting water pipes. Supplied with a stripping nozzle, this versatile tool meets the demands of both professionals and homeowners.

Technical specifications

  • Adjustable power: 1000 W to 2000 W to adapt intensity according to surface
  • Dual temperature control: 350°C or 600°C depending on work type
  • Air flow at 2 settings: 240 l/min or 450 l/min
  • Supply voltage: 230 V
  • Supplied with 1 stripping nozzle
  • Multiple applications: paint and varnish removal, render drying, cable shrinking, pipe defrosting

Application advice

When stripping paint, start at the low temperature setting (350°C) and increase if necessary. Work in steady movements a few centimetres from the surface, avoiding concentrating heat too long in one spot. Scrape away the softened paint gradually using a paint scraper or suitable spatula.

Always switch off the tool before setting it down and allow the nozzle to cool before handling. Heat can spread to combustible materials outside your field of vision: never use the heat gun in damp conditions, in the presence of flammable gases or near combustible materials. Never leave the device unattended while powered on.

For drying render or defrosting, favour high air flow with moderate temperature to avoid damaging surfaces. The nozzle can reach very high temperatures: handle the tool carefully to avoid any risk of accidental fire.

Pro tips

Pygmalion tip : For optimal stripping without burning the substrate, always start with an intermediate temperature setting and gradually increase if necessary. Work in zones of 30 to 40 cm, continuously moving the heat gun to prevent localised overheating. On old woodwork, favour a gentle approach to preserve the wood fibres. Remember to protect adjacent surfaces with thermal protection plates, especially near glazing and joints.

FAQ

Can the heat gun be used on all types of substrates?

The heat gun is suitable for wood, metal and many other heat-resistant materials. However, avoid plastics and sensitive materials that may melt or warp. Always check substrate compatibility before beginning stripping work.

How long should you wait before storing the heat gun after use?

Always switch off the appliance and let it cool completely before storing. The nozzle and accessories reach very high temperatures and require sufficient cooling time to prevent burns or fire hazard. Never store the tool whilst it is still hot.

What safety precautions are essential when using the tool?

Never work in damp conditions, near combustible materials or in the presence of flammable gases. Do not leave the tool unattended whilst it is switched on. Heat can spread beyond your field of vision: remain vigilant to prevent accidental fire and ensure good ventilation of the work area.

Are specific accessories needed depending on the type of work?

Yes, different nozzles allow you to adapt the hot air flow to specific applications: wide nozzles for large flat surfaces, concentrated nozzles for corners and mouldings, protection nozzles for working near windows. Choosing the right nozzle improves stripping efficiency and precision.
