The anti-streak lacquer sleeve in woven polyester is the reference tool for applying all lacquers and satin to gloss finishes on smooth surfaces. Designed for professionals and demanding homeowners alike, it guarantees a very smooth finish with no lap marks, thanks to its high-density texture and bevelled edges that ensure invisible joints.
The substrate must be perfectly smooth, dry, clean and degreased before application. For bare wood, fine sanding followed by thorough dusting is essential. On old paint, check adhesion and sand lightly to promote bonding of the new coat.
Dampen the sleeve slightly before first use to optimise absorption and eliminate any residual fibres. Load the roller evenly, avoiding overloading which would cause runs. Apply in cross strokes, then finish with a vertical smoothing without reloading, maintaining light and constant pressure.
For gloss lacquers, work in sections of 1 to 2 m² maximum and strictly observe the recoat time indicated by the paint manufacturer. The 50 mm format is ideal for panelled doors, skirting boards and radiators, while the 110 mm and 180 mm formats are suitable for larger surfaces such as flat doors, cupboards and woodwork.

The most common mistake with a lacquer sleeve is trying to cover in a single thick coat. Professionals always favour two thin coats over one thick one: you'll avoid runs, lap marks and achieve a more durable film. Always remember to finish your stroke in the same direction, ideally towards the room's main light source.
To extend your sleeve's life between coats, wrap it tightly in cling film or a well-sealed plastic bag rather than cleaning it: you'll retain all its paint load and suppleness. A well-maintained sleeve can be used for several successive projects if thoroughly cleaned after use and stored flat, never standing on its fibres.
