Manchon façades - 180 mm - méché 18 mm

The 180 mm facade roller sleeve with 18 mm fibre is the essential tool for applying pliolite paints and thin coats on irregular surfaces. Specially designed for facade work, this polyamide roller offers exceptional resistance to solvents and ensures optimal paint transfer on roughcast, rough renders and difficult exterior surfaces.

Technical specifications

  • 18 mm polyamide fibres, specially suited for solvent-based and pliolite paints
  • Working width: 180 mm for optimal productivity
  • Bevelled edges for neat finishes without demarcation lines
  • Curved end caps that prevent side marks during application
  • Reinforced construction guaranteeing high resistance to intensive use
  • Compatible with all facade paints: thin coats, pliolites, acrylics and solvent-based

Application tips

Before any application, ensure the surface is sound, clean and dry. Facades must be cleared of all traces of moss, dirt or flaking old paint. For pliolite paints, the 18 mm fibre effectively loads the roughcast irregularities whilst maintaining a regular film.

Work in cross passes to guarantee homogeneous coverage, particularly on highly textured surfaces. The roller sleeve must be properly loaded without excess to avoid runs. On heavy roughcast, apply moderate pressure to work the paint into the relief.

After use, clean the roller sleeve immediately according to the type of paint used. For solvent-based paints, use the appropriate thinner. A well-maintained roller sleeve retains its application qualities over several projects.

Pro tips

The common mistake with 18 mm fibre rollers is trying to use them on smooth facades: you would then lose coverage and get an orange peel effect. Reserve this roller sleeve for genuinely irregular surfaces, roughcast and rough renders. On smooth facades, opt for a maximum 12 mm fibre.

Pro tip for pliolite paints: lightly dampen the roller sleeve with the appropriate thinner before the first paint load. This facilitates product penetration into the fibres and significantly improves glide on rough surfaces. The curved end caps on this model are particularly effective near corners and frames, where standard rollers leave marks.

FAQ
