SPS Multi-Primer Plus tintable is a fast-drying water-based primer designed to bond and build on a variety of substrates: wood, MDF, hard plastics and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium or zinc. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. A single product therefore prepares several substrates before the topcoat, which simplifies stock management on site.
The substrate must be sound, clean, dry, dust-free and degreased. On bare wood, plastic or non-ferrous metal, take particular care with cleaning and degreasing: adhesion depends on it. On old paintwork, first check its condition.
Slightly round off sharp edges before applying. The primer can then cover corners properly, where a finish wears or flakes first.
Once dry, Multi-Primer Plus sands easily. Light sanding before the topcoat improves the result on joinery and panels. For coverage, recoating times and precise application conditions, please refer to the product's SPS technical data sheet.

On exterior joinery, the edge is the most vulnerable area. The primer only holds properly on an edge if it has been slightly rounded off beforehand. Make this a habit before the first coat: a sharp edge, even well covered, leaves a coat that is too thin precisely where paint wears out fastest.
The product is sold to be tinted. A shade close to that of the topcoat helps achieve coverage in fewer coats, especially for a dark finish. On hard plastic or non-ferrous metal, test a discreet area before treating the entire surface. For steel or cast iron, this primer is not the right choice: opt for a primer suited to ferrous metals.
