MULTI-PRIMER PLUS

SPS's MULTI-PRIMER PLUS is the versatile adhesion primer that Belgian professional painters choose to secure their finishes on wood, MDF, hard plastics and non-ferrous metals. Formulated with a water base, it offers excellent filling power while remaining virtually odourless, making it just as suitable for a busy job site as for an enclosed workshop.

Technical features

  • Versatile water-based primer, tribrid technology
  • Fast drying, ideal for tight site schedules
  • Excellent filling power and good edge rounding
  • Optimal adhesion on untreated wood, MDF, PVC and hard plastics
  • Compatible with non-ferrous metals: aluminium, zinc, etc.
  • Very easy to sand, uniform matte finish
  • Virtually odourless and low in solvents
  • Suitable for interior and sheltered exterior use

Application tips

On untreated or bare wood, make sure the substrate is clean, dry and dust-free before application: MULTI-PRIMER PLUS reveals its full filling power on a properly prepared surface. On old paint layers or plastics (PVC, solid-core panels), a light sanding and degreasing are enough to ensure lasting adhesion.

The product can be applied by brush, roller or spray depending on the surface and the quantity to be treated. Thanks to its fast drying time, it allows you to move quickly from one step to the next on site without losing time, while remaining open long enough for careful work on details and edges.

Once dry, the coat sands easily to achieve a perfectly smooth base before applying the finish, whether solvent-based or water-based.

Pro tips

On site, the right reflex is to always test adhesion on a small area of the plastic or non-ferrous metal before treating the whole surface: some PVC or composite panels react differently depending on their original surface treatment. A light fine-grit sanding before application eliminates this risk in the vast majority of cases.

For mixed finishes (wood and non-ferrous metal on the same piece of work, such as joinery with visible hardware), MULTI-PRIMER PLUS unifies adhesion in a single pass, avoiding the need for multiple specific primers and simplifying site planning.

FAQ
