To fully harness the covering power class 1 of Alphatex Classic, carefully prepare the substrate: proper filling and correct sanding will allow you to work in a single coat on most projects. On new or highly absorbent substrates, a suitable primer is still recommended to guarantee a flawless finish. Be sure to thoroughly homogenise the paint before application, especially after prolonged storage, to maintain consistent covering power throughout the project.
Yes, on properly prepared substrates. The covering power class 1 according to DIN EN 13300 allows in most cases to work in a single coat. On new, highly absorbent substrates or those with significant colour variations, a second coat or prior primer may however be necessary for optimal results.
Alphatex Classic offers wet scrub resistance class 2 according to DIN EN 13300, making it suitable for standard residential rooms. For spaces heavily exposed to humidity or requiring frequent cleaning, contact Pygmalion technical support on 02 254 25 00 for recommendations tailored to your project.
Alphatex Classic is applied with a roller, brush or airless. For large surfaces and professional projects, airless application allows you to optimise output and speed of execution. The roller is perfectly suited for medium-sized surfaces, whilst the brush remains ideal for finishes and hard-to-reach areas.
Alphatex Classic benefits from rapid drying which allows accelerated commissioning of rooms. Precise timescales depend on the temperature and humidity conditions of the project. Consult the manufacturer's technical data sheet or contact Pygmalion support for recommendations tailored to your project.
Alphatex Classic is primarily intended for indoor use. In certain specific cases, outdoor application may be considered. To validate the feasibility of your outdoor project, you must contact Pygmalion technical support on 02 254 25 00 which will assess the conditions of use.
