Primaire d'accrochage isolant Zinsser Bin aérosol

Zinsser BIN isolating primer in aerosol form is a shellac-based resin primer in alcohol solvent phase, designed to block the most stubborn stains and isolate odours on all interior substrates. Its ultra-fast drying formula creates an effective barrier against gases and water vapour, guaranteeing superior adhesion even on glossy and sealed surfaces. Ideal for both new work and renovations following water damage, fires or smoke damage, this professional-grade primer ensures optimal blocking power before finishing.

Technical Features

  • Isolating and blocking primer based on shellac resin in alcohol solvent phase
  • Touch dry: 15 minutes, recoatable after 45 minutes
  • Superior adhesion to porous and smooth surfaces, including ceramic and glass
  • Forms a barrier to gases and water vapour
  • Effectively blocks stains: water, grease, rust, smoke, bitumen, graffiti
  • Isolates wood knots and sap bleed
  • White matt finish allowing any subsequent topcoat
  • Convenient aerosol format for spot repairs and localised applications

Application Tips

Shake the aerosol vigorously for at least one minute before use. Apply at a distance of 25 to 30 cm from the surface in regular cross passes to achieve an even coat. Ensure you work in a well-ventilated space due to the solvent-based nature of the product.

The aerosol format is particularly suitable for localised touch-ups, ornamental elements, furniture and hard-to-reach areas. For large surfaces, the BIN can format is more suitable and economical. The BIN primer accepts all water-based or solvent-based topcoats after complete drying.

Clean the nozzle after each use by inverting the aerosol and spraying for a few seconds until a clear jet appears. Store away from frost and heat sources.

Pro tips

For quick interventions at your customers' sites, the BIN aerosol is the professional painter's ally when faced with unexpected stains during a project. Always keep a can in your van to immediately treat moisture rings, nicotine marks or tannin bleed that sometimes appear after sanding. The 45-minute drying time allows you to stick to your schedule without delay. Field tip: to block graffiti or marker stains on a white ceiling, two light passes spaced 20 minutes apart are usually sufficient before applying your topcoat paint. Be sure to carefully protect adjacent surfaces, as aerosol overspray is harder to control than brush application.

FAQ

What types of surfaces can I apply BIN aerosol to?

BIN aerosol adheres to all interior surfaces: wood, concrete, plaster and plaster-based products, ceramic tiles and even glass. It is particularly suitable for doors, ceilings, walls, ornamental elements and furniture. For spot repairs only, it can also be used outdoors.

What types of stains can BIN primer block?

BIN isolates and blocks the most stubborn stains: water rings, grease marks, rust, smoke, bitumen, graffiti, marker and nicotine marks. It also isolates wood knots and sap bleed, preventing them from bleeding through the finish.

How long do I need to wait before topcoating the primer?

BIN aerosol is touch dry in 15 minutes and can be recoated after 45 minutes at 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Full cure occurs between 1 and 3 days. These times may vary depending on application conditions.

Is the aerosol format suitable for large surfaces?

The aerosol is mainly designed for localised spot repairs, small surfaces and hard-to-reach areas. For large surfaces or major projects, the BIN can format is more suitable and economical.

Can I apply any topcoat over BIN?

Yes, BIN primer accepts all topcoats, whether water-based or solvent-based. Its shellac formulation ensures excellent compatibility with all topcoat paints on the market.
