Semin Fibreglass Adhesive is a water-based dispersion based on vinyl resins, ready-to-use, specially formulated for the application of paintable fibreglass, paintable textures and paintable non-wovens in interior spaces. Fluid and creamy, it guarantees easy rolling application without splashing, for fast and clean work on walls and ceilings.
Technical characteristics
- Water-based dispersion based on vinyl resins
- Ready-to-use, requires no dilution
- Solvent-free and odour-free
- White creamy and thixotropic paste
- Neutral pH (approximately 7)
- Open time approximately 30 minutes
- Coverage: 200 g/m² for fibreglass under 120 g/m², from 250 to 350 g/m² for higher weights
- Painting: 24 to 48 hours after application
Application advice
Surfaces must be dry, clean and normally absorbent. Application temperature should be between 10°C and 25°C. Apply the adhesive directly to the wall using a medium-pile roller, adjusting the quantity according to the weight and structure of the fibreglass. The roller loads easily thanks to the fluid consistency of the product.
Position the fibreglass immediately and carefully smoothing with a squeegee to eliminate air bubbles and ensure optimal adhesion. Straighten the edges with a metal ruler and craft knife. No soaking time required. Leave to dry for 24 to 48 hours before painting.
NF DTU 59.4 defines the professional rules for surface preparation and application of wall coverings. It is recommended to refer to it to guarantee a durable and compliant result.

Pro tips
For ceilings or high-weight glass fabrics, gradually increase the amount of adhesive applied rather than forcing with the smoothing roller. This prevents tearing of the fabric and guarantees lasting adhesion. Make sure never to dilute this adhesive: its ready-to-use formulation ensures the right balance between slip and gripping power. On highly absorbent surfaces, slight pre-treatment may be necessary to prevent excessive consumption.
FAQ
Can this adhesive be used on all interior surfaces?
This adhesive is designed for normally absorbent interior surfaces, such as dry and clean walls and ceilings. Surfaces must be free of dust, grease and moisture to ensure good adhesion of the glass fabric.
How much adhesive should I plan for my project?
Allow approximately 200 g/m² for a glass fabric under 120 g/m² on a standard vertical surface. For heavier fabrics or ceiling applications, allow 250 to 350 g/m² depending on the structure and weight of the fabric.
Should this adhesive be diluted before application?
No, this adhesive is ready to use and should not be diluted. Its formulation already guarantees the optimum consistency for easy roller application and controlled coverage.
How long should I wait before painting the glass fabric?
Allow the adhesive to dry for 24 to 48 hours before applying your finish paint. This time ensures complete curing and prevents any risk of delamination or blistering.
Does this adhesive emit odours during application?
No, this water-based dispersion adhesive is formulated without solvents and odourless, making it particularly suitable for work in enclosed or occupied spaces.
