Pygmalion tip : On older Belgian brick or stone façades, always test the substrate absorption by spraying water: if it penetrates immediately, a primer is essential. For very dusty surfaces, wait until the first primer coat is completely dry, then gently run your hand over the surface: if it still marks, apply a second targeted coat. This double application guarantees a sound base that will prevent premature peeling of the topcoat, especially in our humid climate conditions. Always include this primer in your façade quote: it is the guarantee of successful site execution and trouble-free work.

Is Façade Primer mandatory before any façade paint?
On new, absorbent or slightly dusty mineral substrates, primer is strongly recommended. It fixes the base, standardises absorption and significantly improves the adhesion and durability of the topcoat. On older substrates already painted in good condition, consult the manufacturer's technical sheet to determine if a primer is necessary.
Can Façade Primer be tinted?
No, Flügger Façade Primer is a clear primer designed to penetrate and fix the substrate without changing its appearance. It remains transparent after drying and is not used as a tinted undercoat. Final colour is provided by the façade topcoat.
What is the drying time before applying the topcoat?
Drying time varies depending on Belgian weather conditions: temperature, humidity and ventilation. Consult the manufacturer's technical sheet for recommended drying times. As a rule, wait until the substrate is completely dry to the touch and absorption is even before applying the topcoat.
Is the product suitable for wood or metal substrates?
No, Façade Primer is specifically formulated for mineral substrates: concrete, cement, mineral renders, bricks and masonry. For exterior wood or metal substrates, use the specific Flügger primers adapted to these materials.
How to dispose of product residue after the project?
Never pour residue down drains or on the ground. Completely empty containers can be recycled through normal recycling channels. Remaining liquid residues must be taken to a special waste collection point, in accordance with current official Belgian guidelines.
