Fix Primer excels on sealed substrates where standard primers struggle to adhere. For radiators or non-rusted metal pipework, it offers an excellent alternative to glycerol-based primers, without solvent constraints. On kitchen or bathroom wall tiles, ensure thorough degreasing before application: acetone cleaning removes soap residue that would compromise adhesion.
For renovation projects where you switch between different substrates in the same room, Fix Primer allows you to standardise preparation with a single product, avoiding primer errors and simplifying logistics. Bear in mind that it improves adhesion but does not block stains: for stained substrates or after wallpaper removal, choose the Stop Primer from the Flügger range.

Should Fix Primer be diluted before application?
No, the product is ready to use and should not normally be diluted. Dilution with water would weaken its adhesion properties.
How long should you wait before applying the topcoat?
Allow a minimum of 12 hours at 20°C and 60% relative humidity. In cold or humid conditions, this may be extended.
Can Fix Primer be applied over rusted metal?
No, this primer is designed for non-rusted metals. On rusted metal, rust must first be treated with a specific rust-inhibiting primer.
What is the difference between Fix Primer and Stop Primer?
Fix Primer improves adhesion on difficult substrates (smooth, low-porosity). Stop Primer blocks stains and stabilises substrates after wallpaper removal. Choose Fix for adhesion problems, Stop for stain problems.
How many coats of Fix Primer should be applied?
One coat is normally sufficient. On very smooth or particularly difficult substrates, check coverage and uniformity before proceeding to the topcoat.
