Application advice

Before first use, lightly dampen the roller to facilitate paint absorption and remove any loose fibres. Carefully squeeze out excess water. Load the roller evenly in your paint tray by rolling it back and forth over the wringing grid several times.

To achieve a regular texture, maintain constant pressure and work in cross passes. The 18 mm pile is particularly suitable for slightly irregular surfaces and helps compensate for minor substrate imperfections. Clean the roller immediately after use according to the type of paint used.

This roller is particularly suitable for thick wall paints and work requiring good paint deposit. For large surfaces, we recommend using a telescopic handle for comfortable working without a ladder.

Pro tips

Maximise the full potential of this Microlon Rough roller by adjusting the pressure according to your desired texture: moderate pressure accentuates the rough structure, whilst lighter pressure reduces it. On ceilings, work in bands parallel to the main light source to minimise visible seams. Remember to maintain a wet edge at all times to avoid lap marks, which is particularly important with this type of structure.

FAQ

What is the difference between the 10 cm and 18 cm formats?

The 10 cm format features 14 mm pile and is suitable for small surfaces, corners and precision areas. The 18 cm format with 18 mm pile is designed for large wall and ceiling surfaces, offering superior load capacity and increased productivity.

What finish do you get with this roller?

The Microlon Rough produces a surface with regular, medium to rough texture. This structured finish is ideal for disguising minor substrate imperfections and adding relief to walls and ceilings.

Is this roller compatible with all types of paint?

Yes, the Microlon Rough roller can be used on all types of surfaces and with various wall and ceiling paints. Its professional-grade synthetic fibre ensures efficient distribution regardless of the viscosity of the applied product.

How do I maintain this roller after use?

Clean the roller immediately after use with lukewarm water for water-based paints. Squeeze out excess water thoroughly and leave to dry flat or suspended. Proper maintenance allows you to reuse the roller across multiple projects whilst maintaining its performance.
