Application Advice

Prepare the substrate carefully: it must be clean, dry, sound and dust-free. Repair any damage with appropriate fillers and sand if necessary. The minimum temperature during application and drying is 10°C, with a maximum relative humidity of 80 %.

The paint is ready to use but can be diluted up to 10 % if required. Apply with a roller for standard surfaces or by airless spray for large professional projects. Allow a minimum interval of 4 hours between coats under normal conditions.

Clean tools immediately after application with water. For optimal results, allow full cure of 28 days before intensive cleaning of painted surfaces.

Pro tips

The main pitfall with this class 1 abrasion resistance paint: too many customers clean it before full curing. Although touch-dry within one hour, warn your clients to wait at least two weeks before vigorous cleaning, ideally 28 days to achieve full resistance. This is particularly critical in stairwells or apartment hallways where hand marks appear quickly.

For large projects, favour airless application with a nozzle suited to matt paints: you'll gain productivity whilst preserving the velvety finish. On ceilings, work in crossed bands without waiting for the first coat to dry, to avoid visible touch-ups under raking light.

FAQ

How many coats are needed on fresh plaster?

On fresh plaster, allow two coats of Flutex Pro 7. The first coat may be lightly thinned (5 to 10%) to aid adhesion. Wait a minimum of 4 hours before applying the second coat, which must be applied undiluted to guarantee opacity and final resistance.

Can this paint be cleaned with household products?

Yes, Flutex Pro 7 is classified as class 1 for wet abrasion resistance per EN 13300, meaning it withstands regular cleaning. Use mild, non-abrasive detergents to remove stains and soiling. However, allow full curing of 28 days before intensive cleaning to benefit fully from this resistance.

What is the waiting time between coats?

Observe a minimum interval of 4 hours between coats at 20°C and 60% relative humidity. If temperature is lower or humidity higher, extend this time accordingly. The paint is touch-dry within 1 hour, but this is insufficient for recoating without risk of marking.

Is this paint suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes, Flutex Pro 7 is perfectly suited to busy spaces such as kitchens and bathrooms, thanks to its cleaning and wear resistance. In areas exposed to direct water splashing, ensure good ventilation during drying and wait for full curing before intensive use.

What is the actual coverage per litre of paint?

The theoretical yield is 8 m²/L. In practice, allow for 7 to 9 m² per litre depending on substrate condition, porosity and application technique. Highly porous or rough substrates will require more product for even coverage.
